Author Guidelines

General Writing requirements

  1. KIAT: Kajian Ilmiah Pengabdian Masyarakat is published twice a year (January and July), published by the LP3M Universitas Binaniaga Indonesia.
  2. Articles published in the KIAT: Kajian Ilmiah Pengabdian Masyarakat must align with the focus and scope, which can be viewed at the here.

  4. The manuscript that has been written under the guidelines of KIAT: Kajian Ilmiah Pengabdian Masyarakat (in MS Word format, use this article template) must be submitted through Online Submission System using Open Journal System (OJS) on the KIAT: Kajian Ilmiah Pengabdian Masyarakat
  5. The manuscript which is inappropriate with the KIAT: Kajian Ilmiah Pengabdian Masyarakat writing guidelines will be returned to the author before the reviewing process.
  6. The submitted article has not been published and is not considered for publication in other journals. The manuscript can be written both in language Indonesia with the standard language. The manuscript shuould consist of fifteen (15) to twenty (20) pages including pictures and tables. The manuscript text ought to be written as this article template in the camera-ready mode. The article is written on A4-sized papers (210x297 mm), with custom margins as follows: left 25 mm, right 20 mm, bottom 20 mm and top 30 mm. Entry articles are evaluated by Expert Editor (Bestari Partner). 
  7. The manuscript should contain several aspects of a scientific article as follows: (subtitles as the order), which are: (a) the title of the article, (b) the author’s name (no accademic title), (c) the afiliated author’s address, (d) the author’s email (e) the abstract and the keywords, (f) the introduction, (g) the research method (h), the research findings and disscussion (i), the conclusion (j), the references.
  8. The title can be written both in English with the standard language, maximum of 20 words, and printed in capital letters on every word, in the middle with a size of 14 pt.
  9. Abstract is written in two languages versions, Indonesians and English with the standard language.
  10. Abstract contains Introduction, Research Objectives, Research Methods, Results / Findings, Suggestions (if any), The introduction section contains elements of research rationale, research urgency, references (relevant literature or research), research objectives and benefits, no need to use subchapter titles, for example moving from research rational writing to research urgency writing, just using a new paragraph., The research method contains the type of research, time and place of research, research objectives (population and sample for quantitative research while research subjects for qualitative research); instruments, data collection techniques, and data analysis techniques., The discussion is focused on linking the data and the results of their analysis to the problem or research objective and the theoretical context., The conclusion presents a summary of the description of the results and discussion and refers to the research objectives. Authors should follow a reference writing procedure based on IEEE style of context. Authors can visit IEEE Reference Style Guide for Authors to learn more about the IEEE style envelope. References are listed in chronological alphabetical order. Writing can use the Mendeley application.
  11. The tables and pictures are placed in the text group after the referenced tables or pictures. Each picture must be given a caption (Figure Caption) below the picture and be numbered in Arabic numbering format followed by the picture title. Each table must be given a table title (Table Caption) and numbered in Arabic numbering format above the table followed by the table title. The pictures attachment should be guaranteed that they can be printed well (font size, resolution and line space are clearly seen). The picture, the table, and the chart should be placed in the center between text groups. If it has a bigger size, it can be placed in the center of page. The table should not contain vertical lines, while horizontal lines are allowed only for the important point.

    Structure of The Manuscript
  1. TITLE: Title shall briefly explain the content of the script and attract academic readers. The tittle shall comprise 8-12 words. Use a phrase, not a sentence.
  2. ABSTRACT: Abstract is the summary of the script. It contains the objective, method, result and discussion, and conclusion of the study. Implication and recommendation could be added into the abstract. The abstract shall be of 150-300 words in both English and Bahasa Indonesia. The abstract shall not contain long background information and does not have referrence to pictures, tables, equation, and bibliographical references to other scripts. The abstract’s language shall be short and clear. This is a summary that stands alone in a paragraph
  3. KEYWORDS: Keywords contain important/specific words or phrases, especially in the title or abstract. But, keywords may come from the script. There are 3-5 keywords in one script
  4. INTRODUCTION: Introduction shows what has been acknowledged from the previous studies, defines the importance of the study, the literature study, and states the study statement. To understand what has been acknowledged from the previous studies, introduction shall discuss relevant journals (with quotations) and summarize the present understanding of the problem found.
  5. PROCEDURE: explains clearly how the writer carries out his/her activities. This method shall clearly describes the replicable study procedures, briefly explains how to summarize and analyze data.
  6. RESULT AND DISCUSSION: The Result objectively shows the presentation of the primary results without interpretation using text, tables, and pictures. Result shall start with text, presenting the primary findings and referring to tables and pictures. Tables shall not be in picture and screenshot formats and certain numerical numbers, compare and contrast, and be at least 2 lines or columns. The numbers shall be clear (providing the original files as additional files in the script submission), highlights the trends, patterns, and relationships. Result shall present how the writer ensures validity and data accuracy. Discussion shows how write interprete the result based on what he/she has ackowledged and explains his/her new understanding about the problem after considering the Result. Discussion shall be related with Introduction so that it informs how this study contributes the people and body of knowledge.
  7. CONCLUSION: Conclusion shows the answers to or clarification of the study question and the chance for the future studies.
  8. ACKNOWLEDGMENT: Writer shall admit any sources of funds supporting his/her study and be able to acknowledge the reviewers of his/her draft.
  9. References. References must contain a minimum of 10 main references with more than 80% (>80%) coming from reputable journal papers along with their DOI or URL. References no more than the last 10 years. References should use a reference manager such as Mendeley, Zotero, etc

  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
